Torre della Pelosa, Sardinia Giclée print
Giclée print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper
The Torre della Pelosa is an iconic tower on the eponymous Sardinian beach, located a few km away from Stintino. This fortified structure, built between the Middle Ages and the early Renaissance, had a strategic position to defend the territory from raids by sea, being located at the entrance of the strait of Asinara, and allowing the sighting of boats heading towards the gulf. The crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and the scenic views, make this one of the most famous holiday destinations in Italy. This photograph was taken in the early hours of a warm day in June. I was walking on the path towards the Pelosa beach and I saw this lady walking on the rocks, alone, against the dramatic view of the tower.
